Thank you for purchasing a pair of our handmade moccasins. It is important to
us that you are happy with your new moccasins. When you first receive them,
please be sure that they are up to your expectations. If they are a bit
difficult to pull on at first, do not be afraid to pull on the back or the
front of the boot to push your foot in. This should not hurt the moccasins in
any way. When you try them on make sure they fit correctly. If they are a
little snug in the width or over the instep this is fine as the moccasins
will stretch a little to form to your foot. But they do need to be of
sufficient length, as they will not stretch in the length. If there is
anything not up to your expectations, please let us know immediately. If you
have any problem with the moccasins after you have worn them for a while,
please notify us before it damages the shoes beyond repair. Remember, at the
MOUNTAIN PEOPLE FOOTWEAR we fully guarantee our moccasins.
If you are likely to be wearing your moccasins in wet conditions it is
advisable to treat them with some type of waterproofing. We recommend that
you use a bees wax or silicone product such as Sno-seal for very wet or
extended use in wet weather. Most of these types of products will darken the
leather considerably and make them look more "broken in". If this effect is
undesirable we recommend that you use a spray silicone product such as Camp
Dry, Scotch Guard or Rain and Stain, which will also help to keep them clean
looking. These products will affect the color of the leather only minimally.
We recommend that you do not use oil products such as mink oil or neatsfoot
oil. Oil breaks down the leather and will eventually cause it to tear at
stress points along the seam. If your moccasins are not likely to be getting
wet, you may treat them if you wish, but you do not need to. Your moccasins
may be cleaned with Lexol or Saddle Soap.
Please do not forget that we are able to re-sole these moccasins. So if you
wear a hole in the bottom, as soon as it is about the size of a dime in the
first layer of leather, send it back to us for a new sole. Please call for
the current price and approximate waiting time for resoling. |
